This auditing standard was developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and is respected around the world.

A Type II certification is done with greater detail, where an independent service auditor completes tests to specific controls to obtain evidence about their effectiveness in meeting the related control objectives. The audit focused on several key areas, including control environment elements; control objectives and procedures in such areas as data loss prevention and system redundancy and physical and network security; and client control considerations, such as payroll input and output process controls. The independent service auditor's report includes detailed information about the company's controls and the auditor's tests of operating effectiveness of each. The resulting audit report concluded that Telepayroll has employed effective system controls in these areas.
